Sun sets at 5 o'clock, stores closing early
I've been bitten by the winter bug
Nothing is memorable, there's no new stories
Everything happens today just like yesterday

Looking through pictures and I remember
There's a cold blanket the spring sun will
melt away the white and gray, there's no more
antifreeze, DVDs, 8 o'clock bedtimes
and the worst of times
The world ended months ago and I survive
What I wouldn't give for more daylight

The shared experience fades away
Michigan's seen some better days
We trudge through it anyway
Skidding on ice in our steel sleighs
The more I sleep, the more I sleep the less I rest
Patience put me to the test
The crushing feeling in my chest
I can't be, I won't be again depressed
There's no corner I can't hear this buzzing still
The truce of rain, the melted snow runs down the hill
It can storm as long as it won't freeze

As I drift softly asleep I can hear the breeze
Birds chirping happily, bathing in the sun
